SHAH ALAM, Oct 4: Tourism Selangor in collaboration with the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) has set up regional cooperation in Japan through the launch of the Tourism Expo 2017, at Tokyo Big Sight, from 21 to 24 September.

Tourism Selangor general manager Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din said his organization had the potential to increase the prospect of Selangor tourism in the country. "The tourism industry of Selangor has a lot of potential for further exploration, especially with tourists in Japan.

"In our quest to become an active and developed tourism industry, we at Tourism Selangor and the Selangor Government support all efforts by local industry players to develop state-of-the-art tourism products. "Among the initiatives that can be undertaken include environmental tourism products, agro tourism, homestay, heritage and culture," he said in a statement.

He said the collaboration would also be the best platform for the Selangor Government to carry out joint tourism programs to attract higher enrollment rates.

"The Discover Selangor campaign is a benchmark for Tourism Selangor to promote products to the public to increase the number of tourists from within and outside the country. "Heart of Malaysia" which is used as a slogan for state tourism is believed to be attractive to tourism promotion.

"This campaign also shows that Selangor as a transportation hub, development, investment, business, education, medical and tourism as well," he said.
