KUALA SELANGOR, 11 OKT: The Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) carried out a house cleaning and detention operation in Bagan Pasir, recently.

Development Planning Department director Mohamad Yusli Askandar said the action was taken on residents' complaints regarding their discomfort towards the house being used as the storage of the used goods.

He said the owner had been given a warning notice to clean the house but did not do so within the prescribed period. "Thus, a cleaning and seepage operation is carried out and all recyclable items and objects have the potential to be seepage.

"Counseling sessions are also being conducted to give awareness on the negative impact if the haul of freight items is ongoing," he said.

Mohamad Yusli said MDKS sought public cooperation to take care of the home hygiene aspect so as not to disturb the comfort of neighbors and residents. He said they could be fined no more than RM1,000 or jail for more than six months or both under subsection 82 (5) of the Local Government Act 1976.

"The community is encouraged to channel online MDKS services in the downloadable SPARks application on the Play Store and App Store," he said.
