KUALA SELANGOR, 23 OKT: A total of five primary and five selected high schools attended the Dengue Briefing Program organized by the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) recently.

Director of Development Planning Department,  Mohamad Yusli Askandar said a special team was created comprising students and teachers to carry out dengue prevention work at every school.

He said they would be guided and instructed and should send monthly reports to the MDKS Vector Control Unit. "With involving schoolboys in the awareness and dehydration program, they are more aware of the dangers of the disease. "We believe they will practice what they learned and then address the problem, in the neighborhood," he said.

Each school also received a 'Spray Can' contribution and complete equipment for the eradication of larvae. Mohamad Yusli said the public was also advised to be more careful and inspect the equipment potentially into water reservoir. "They can also work together to channel further information related to the fight against Aedes and dengue," he said.
