KUALA SELANGOR, May 3: A total of 50 teams competing for Championship  Men's Open Sepak Takraw Cup of the President of the Kuala Selangor District Council (MDKS) 2017, recently.


Its president, Mohd Azhar Mohamed Ali, said the annual tournament to provide opportunities for local youth team tested the ability to compete with other regions and Selangor. He said he also is a platform for new talent among young people to be polished. "The activities of this sport should be a culture of Malaysians towards improving the health and quality of life. "At the same time, he hopes to raise public interest to continue to play this traditional sport that does not escape the passage of time," he said.


Mohd Azhar said, sepak takraw also can be alternative activities for young people who are exposed to activities contrary to the norms of society. "The organization of sports events such as this can prevent some young people from getting involved in social ills," he said.


Located at the Indoor Stadium Sports Complex in Kuala Selangor, the tournament saw KJTT Team 'A' team emerged champions after beating the Champion Village 'A', thus taking home RM1,000.
